Context
Following the initial launch of iMedicina’s product, the company experienced steady revenue growth. However, the initial sales model relied heavily on consultants to onboard clients manually, which was not scalable. To accommodate growing demand, we needed a way to automate the onboarding process and scale lead acquisition.
Challenge
The main challenge was to create an automated free trial model that would allow potential customers to sign up, explore the platform, and convert into paying users. At the time, onboarding was manual, and users relied on the sales team to receive access to the platform after signing up. This model was unsustainable as the user base expanded.
Solution
I was tasked with designing and implementing a self-service sign-up flow that allowed users to experience a seven-day free trial of the platform. This required designing an intuitive check-out process integrated with the website, where users could sign up, provide payment details, and receive immediate access to the platform.
The process also involved automating the delivery of credentials via email, streamlining the onboarding process. We created a flow where users would receive a reminder as their free trial neared expiration, encouraging them to upgrade to a paid plan.
I also designed clear interfaces for plan selection and security validation during sign-up, ensuring a smooth and trustworthy experience for users entering their payment information.
Results
This automated free trial system significantly improved lead generation and customer acquisition. It also reduced reliance on the sales team for onboarding, freeing up resources to focus on closing high-value deals. More importantly, it set the foundation for future scalable growth and allowed us to refine the user journey based on real-time interactions with the platform.
